Now that CBD oil has become more mainstream, it’s no secret that CBD oil helps with issues such as pain, inflammation, fibromyalgia, anxiety, PTSD, and depression. People from all walks of life are getting relief from all of these issues. Some of the uncommon benefits of CBD might surprise you, I know they did me.

CBD can be used to treat acne

One uncommon use for CBD is to treat acne. Acne is a common skin condition, and it’s not exclusive to teenagers. Recent studies seems to show that the anti-inflammatory properties of CBD can help reduce, or treat acne. Further study is still needed, but current results look promising. CBD can be used to treat high blood pressure

CBD is a fairly new discovery, and prior to its discovery there had been a focus on THC and wether or not it had the ability to lower blood pressure. New studies indicate that CBD has numerous affects on the cardiovascular system, including reduced blood pressure. One study showed that single dose of CBD reduces resting blood pressure and the blood pressure response to stress. (source)

CBD is antibacterial

Did you now CBD is antibacterial? In fact, all five major cannabinoids are known to fight bacteria: THC, CBD, CBG, CBC, and CBN! It has been known for a while now that CBD has potent antibacterial abilities. One study even showed that CBD was effective in fighting anti-biotic resistant bacteria. (source) Further research is still needed, but cannabinoids show a lot of promise for being used as an antibacterial agent.

CBD promotes gut health and better digestion

Eating healthy foods is crucial to a healthy gut, but CBD can also help promote good gut health. In the journal of Cannabis and Cannabinoid Research it states, “cannabis has been used for centuries to treat a variety of disorders associated within the gastrointestinal tract.” One paper published in the journal Advanced Research in Gastroenterology & Hepatology suggests that CBD can repair endothelial membrane permeability (leaky gut). This allows nutrients to properly transfer from your gut, without allowing harmful substances in. (source)

CBD for pets

Did you know CBD works on pets too? Just like humans, cats, dogs, and even birds have an endocannabinoid system! It works the same way it does in humans, but lower doses are needed since they typically have lower body weight. You can administer the CBD in a variety of ways. It can be administered on the tongue, or in their food. For cats, you can try applying the oil to their paws and have them lick it off, but for guaranteed results I like to use our transdermal cream. Simply apply a small dollop on the inside of your pets ears, directly on the skin.

CBD is still a relatively new discovery, even though we have always had an endocannabinoid system. It’s function and purpose have only recently started to be researched. It will only be a matter of time before we see cannabis is a common treatment. Just like grandma’s Vicks Vaporub treatments, it will be in everybody’s medicine cabinet across the country.
